I SAID ON THE EVENING, "I HOPE YOU ALL HAVE A NIGHT TO REMEMBER", AND I THINK I CAN SAFELY SAY THAT EVERYBODY DID.
THE MAIN AIM OF THE EVENING WAS TO RAISE £1.300 FOR THE CHEMO WARD AT HEARTLANDS HOSPITAL, WE HAD RAISED THIS BY ABOUT 11PM, AND THE MONEY JUST KEPT COMING IN, AND STILL IS, I BELIEVE THE TOTAL NOW STANDS AT ABOUT £2.000.
WHAT A GENEROUS BUNCH YOU ALL ARE.
WE WOULD LIKE TO SAY A FEW THANKS TO THE PEOPLE THAT MADE THE NIGHT POSSIBLE.
FIRSTLY TO ALL THE PEOPLE THAT ATTENDED THE EVENING AND PROVED TO BE OH SO CHARITABLE.
THANK YOU TO START THE CAR & THE MUSTARD BAND + GUESTS FOR THE GREAT ENTERTAINMENT,
TO ALL THE PEOPLE THAT DONATED ITEMS FOR THE RAFFLE AND AUCTION,
TO PAUL, FOR DONATING HIS TOSH, HIS HAIR AND HIS HAIRY CHEST,
AND TO ALL THE GREAT STAFF AT THE HARVEY.
OVER THE PAST WEEK PLENTY OF PEOPLE HAVE APPROACHED DAWN AND I AND SAID WHAT A FANTASTIC NIGHT THEY`D HAD AND WOULD WE BE HAVING ANOTHER CHARITY NIGHT IN THE FUTURE?????
WHY THE HELL NOT, WE SAY....
RESPECT TO YOU ALL!!!
PHIL & DAWN
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to everybody that attended our Charity Evening at The Harvester last Friday. Thanks to Paul, (Start The Cars' drummer) for the original idea, and also for the drum solo that raised so much and many thanks to Phil and Dawn for being such incredible hosts.
By the way Phil, we hear that Sotherby's have a vacancy for an Auctioneer. (Bring your bleep machine)!
Many thanks to Paul, Kevin and Martin from Start The Car and Dougie and Chris from The Mustard Band and Pete and Roy filling in on bass and drums and of course our son Chris on drums. Great entertainment from superb musicians with all fees donated to 'The Cause'. Sorry Jim from the Mustards missed it as he was on holiday.
To all the bar staff and namely to Jo, Julie, Paul, Steve, Sue, Mavis, Phil and Dawn and to our many great friends at The Harvester, we thank you for your encouragement and support when Theresa was ill. You may not realise how much your kind words helped us.
Ricky and Theresa (The Real Hustle), I'm sending you two out for my Christmas shopping this year, you pair of scam artists. Thanks Ricky for using your wily ways to obtain some great auction prizes and to Jan, Jeanette, Alison, George and Leigh for selling lots of raffle tickets and to everybody that bought tickets and auction items that helped us to raise so much. Thanks to Paul for suffering so much for 'The Cause', hope you're not too sore and the hair soon grows back! Thanks to Lynne for a great job making the posters.
It was great to see the nurses from the Chemo Unit coming along to support us on the night. We had an incredible night and we are very touched by the amazing generosity demonstrated by all. The total raised at the moment is very close to £2000 and there is still more coming in. During the next few days we will be visiting the hospital to arrange the way that the money is spent. All of the cash will go to the Chemotherapy Unit at Heartlands. We will keep you up-to-date via the website.
Our sincere apologies to anybody we haven't mentioned by name but we feel so lucky to have so many great friends at The Harvester.
Love Kevin and Theresa (Rushy & Wife)
